List of things needed is as follows:
Chowrang (Raised Platform) 1 Piece 
Clean Cloth to cover Chowrang,
New cloth (or New Hand Kerchief [preferably white ]), 
Chandan (sandalwood - powder or paste),
Whole unbroken) uncooked pieces of rice [if available, Basmati would be great], 
Camphor pieces, 
Agarbatti (inscense stick), 
Ghee lamp (Oil Lamp will do too, if both are not available, then tea-light candles will be fine as well)
Five Fruits of different type (if banana is included .. count two banana as one!)
Loose flowers, 
Flower garland(s) (For Gurudev's photo) 
One Coconut 
Five Clean and fresh Beetlenut leaves (paan)
One Supari(beetle nut) 
Sweets for prasad 
Matchstick Box

A: Any day, any occasion, no occasion fine to organise Guru Pooja.

A: There are 2 courses which you will have to undergo to be able to perform Guru Pooja
